CT Rider Championships

Sue Mitchell, Editor

Sue is the founder/owner of Chiltern & Thames Rider magazine which she first published in 1993. Prior to that she worked in the computer industry having graduated from Leicester University in 1978. She started the magazine because she saw there was a need for a local equestrian publication in the Chiltern area, her new home after moving from Essex where she was an avid reader of Essex Rider. Sue has owned horses since 1982 and has competed in showing, unaffiliated showjumping and eventing.
Sue has two horses; a home bred brood mare, Dexter's Dehli who produced a coloured filly by Allbany in 2005. This filly called CT Rider Special Print and is currently being schooled by Rachael Evans.

Janet Brown, Deputy Editor

Janet began working for the magazine in 1993 and now has the responsibility for accounts and office administration. Janet does not ride herself, but has built up a good knowledge of the 'horsey world' over the years.

Julia Beardsworth, Advertisement Manager

Julia has been with Chiltern & Thames Rider since the outset. She has retired from riding herself but still knows all the 'gurus' in the showing world as her daughter Hannah competed with show ponies up to Horse of the Year standard.

Pat Berger, Classified Sales

Pat joined the magazine in 1995. Pat has always had horses and her daughter now showjumps Marlborough of Haynes whose achievements include competing at the Royal International Horse Show. Pat's husband, Hans is a farrier, so there's a wealth of knowledge in the Berger household.

Gill Stuart - Assitant Editor
Gill started working as a freelance reporter and photographer for the magazine 10 years ago and gradually did more and more work. She has recently been appointed as Assistant Editor and takes over most of the editorial of the magazine. Gill used to compete in dressage and she is married to dressage trainer, Simon Battram.
